What does liberty mean to me?
I think the hardest part about being a politician is finding the right people to run your campaign and be on your team.
The other thing that is hard is … campaign financing.

From School Board to HD 3 Candidate: My Journey of Advocacy
Running for the school board was a courageous leap into the unknown, a risk I took to join the discourse on literacy and unveil the flaws within our education system. My aim was to shine a light on issues that demanded attention, and it marked the pivotal beginning of my mission to inform parents about the inner workings of our local school system.
Once I secured my place on the ballot, a sense of purpose washed over me. I was poised to embark on a journey that would challenge me in ways I never anticipated. My objective remained crystal clear: expose the truth about our education system. Little did I foresee that this path would lead me to unexpected destinations.
One of these unforeseen twists was my participation in forum discussions, not organized by the Republican party, as one might expect, but by the Democrats. This decision may have seemed intriguing, given my identity as a liberty-loving individual with a unique perspective. Nonetheless, the Democrats extended a gracious welcome, granting me a platform to share my views and engage in discussions that often evolved into lengthy conversations.
I found myself thrust into the limelight, frequently interviewed by numerous school groups and organizations. This journey demanded patience, a quality I had to cultivate along the way. The challenge was further amplified by my lack of a campaign team to rely on. Running for office without a dedicated team can be a daunting task, but I was willing to make the necessary sacrifices to persevere.
For me, this venture into running for the school board was not just a political endeavor; it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that not everyone seeks or has the opportunity to undertake. It was about voicing my concerns, advocating for change, and connecting with individuals who shared my passion for education and literacy.
Five months later, a new chapter of my journey unfolded when I was nominated to run for HD 3 candidate. The ride has been far from ordinary, filled with challenges, unforeseen opportunities, and a profound sense of purpose. Throughout this journey, I have learned that advocacy and public service demand determination, patience, and a willingness to embrace the unknown.
As I continue down this path, I encourage others to savor the ride, irrespective of where it leads. Advocacy and public service are not solely about the destination; they are equally about the experiences, connections, and impact we cultivate along the way. Whether you are running for office or striving to make a difference, remember that the journey itself is a valuable and transformative part of the process.
So, relish the adventure, embrace the challenges, and cherish the moments that shape your path. Enjoy the ride!
