Super excited for new ideas.

As you know, I’ve been hard at work on my website, selling the frickin awesomest children’s books ever, and preparing to head back into another year of homeschooling my 8 year old.

But what you might not know is… I am also going to include some easy steps for you start raising positive kids in this negative world.

For the past few weeks I’ve been busy working on setting myself up for a future emergency like a death in the family or God forbid divorce. I have read the great books. Studied the greatest generation leadership. And learning from one of the best female leaders today–you guessed it! Marie Forleo. Which she has her new book coming out in September and is going on book tour. She is a bestselling author, TV host, Oprah guests, and I consider “remarkable.” If you haven’t picked up her book, you should.

I am starting a new email series and I will give you 5 tips to help you raise positive kids. Here is the first 5. I hope this helps you and you get excited for what I am going to build soon.

You can do this!

First, you need to make sure your environment is positive.
Second, you need to teach you kids phonics. (Most teachers today say that they teach Phonics but last time I check, they don’t. It’s an alibi to look-say method that started in 1920.
Third, you need to give your kids time to be curious.

Got that?

The first 5 or 6 years of your kids life is the MOST important! This is when they are learning effortlessly. You need to spend the most TIME with them. And don’t put off questions they have!

They should NOT be placed in a school that teaches any subject formally. It would be far better if your kids could start school at age 8 instead of 6, especially boys. This is what most psychologists say.

You MUST READ ALOUD to your kids.

Your role as parents is so vital to the education of your kids, especially in the important areas of life.

I can’t wait to show you what I’ve learned in the 8 years of teaching my son to read. 👊

Bueno, besitos y un fuerte abrazo! 😘👐

P.S. Reading is what has made up most of my homeschool career as a teacher. I have been reading to my son since I first joined Usborne Books & More. I’ve read the good books to him. From fairytales to greek myths to sweet picture books. And Usborne has really allowed me to build his and my library. My son sees me reading a lot. Time spent reading contributes to your child’s moral values, something that we desperately need in this negative world. You can teach your child moral values through good stories. And our books, help build character for all readers from preschool to preteen to full blown teenager. Stories impact value and I want to help you find the good stories that guide your kids so they can be positive.
Happy back to school time!
Here is one story I love. It reminds me of my friend, Esther. When she was a preschooler, about 5 yrs old, she used to sleep walk. And her sister and mother had to chase her down in the middle of the night just to make sure she was safe.

This book in Spanish about the Lemur who dreams is such a book. Though it’s not the mother or the sister that chase after him–it’s the neighbors where he lives that look after him. A good book about how we all can look after each other.

The other awesome book that raises positive kids in a negative world is Bob is a Unicorn. It helps kids be themselves. But it’s up to you, the parent, to teach your kids good values and morals.
