After becoming a mom for the first time and quitting my career in law to stay home and trusting God with this next chapter in my life, I was forced to make radical changes, including moving to another state. But then, something surprising happened.
I discovered that I need to stop seeking the approval of people — and instead seek God’s approval.
This forced me to wonder, “What if some of our most commonly held beliefs about time, work, and productivity are killing us!” 🤔
Then, as if God was guiding my way, I attended the homeschool convention and some of the talks put my thoughts into motion. One such talk that got me thinking was by Dr. Scott Monk, How stress destroys everything and how to stop it!–is filled with smart, research-backed strategies to help you achieve balance in your life, and how nearly all ailments and illnesses begin, and sometimes never end, because of an imbalance in the body’s essential survival chemistry.
- Dr. Monk explains that a combination of acquired and accumulated stresses within what he calls, our Core 4 – Genetics, Lifestyle, Chemistry and Emotions – has stoked the fire of the fight-or-flight response, destabilizing the body’s means of vitality and healing.

So many of us have felt the effects of this imbalance and our lives today are in a constant state of fear and stress that no matter how hard we push, we are caught in its grip, and long to be set free.
But the good news is…
Dr. Monk lays out a predictable and well balanced plan to balance your health. I believe you will like his book and what he has to say to help you restore your health and bring balance into your life.
You don’t need to busy yourself to accomplish your will. You need to serve others by being present. You need to serve God and your family by keeping yourself healthy in mind, body and spirit.
